Black Screen - Unable To Restore/Reset?

JUST REALISED THIS IS IN THE WRONG SECTION! WHOOPS!

My iPhone 3G's Lock/Power Off button decided to stop working a while ago, which was alright. I never had a major problem until now. But recently I was trying to 'downgrade' to iOS 3.1.3 because 4.0 just isn't really working as smoothly as I'd hoped (probably my fault).

So I clicked the Restore button but the Connect-to-iTunes came up on the phone after five minutes. So, I realised I'd just have to put less music on my iPhone. So I started downloading iOS4 again. When it had finished, the screen on my iPhone was black. And the iPhone Tab wouldn't show in iTunes, nor would the iPhone turn on when I plugged it in to charge. I read on the internet that in order to fix this, I needed to restore my iPhone. Uh-oh. Since it won't come on in iTunes and the lock button was broken, I couldn't.

_*Summary: How can I restore my iPhone without iTunes OR the Lock/Power button?*_

normally you have to hold down the lock and home buttons at the same time and it should be fine but obviously with a broken lock button there isnt much you can do. only thing i can think of is take it to an apple store but they will probably charge you for a new lock button. Otherwise there might be a way to open up the phone and trigger the lock button from the inside? hope this helps.
