Image preview not working

This change happened months ago, and I’m at the end of my rope! For whatever reason, my iPhone 12 will NOT show image previews in Safari when I search images. When I click an image, it sends me to the webpage where the picture originated. My wife has an iPhone and she can still scroll through images. I went to Safari settings on both my phone and hers, and every setting is the same. How do I fix this?! Again, when selecting the image tab in safari, it brings up pictures, but I can’t preview them...clicking and image sends me to the webpage where the pic is from. I want to be able to do what I’ve done for years on iPhones. And that is when you click an image in Safari under “images”, it brings up the pic in a preview window, and then while there, you can scroll through all of the images on the image page. Please help!!

Make sure Mobile website is selected instead of Desktop site.

Sections: Change text size, display, and website settings

To open the View menu, tap  on the left side of the search field, then do any of the following:

Use the View menu to increase or decrease the text size, switch to Reader view,

specify privacy restrictions, and more.

If you see the menu option "Request Mobile Website", tap it.
