LaCie External Drives

These are supposedly Mac compatible and even Apple sells them on the website. I don't know why. They don't seem very compatible.

First problem: A thunderbolt connector is not provided.

Second and biggest problem: I backed up three times with Time Machine -- My 1T LaCie drive supposedly ran out of space. I reformatted it as recommended on a Mac support website and the drive disappeared entirely.

I have sent a request off to LaCie Support. But clearly this is not Mac compatible.

Can anyone recommend a MacBook (M1) compatible external drive that works reliably?

Thanks,

Beth from Ottawa

Hi,

Apple say that following drives are compatible M1 MacBook Pro.

https://www.apple.com/shop/mac/accessories/storage?page=1&f=13inchmacbookair2020m1-13inchmacbookpro2020m1&fh=3783%2B559a0f%2B8a4b3a

Not sure they are the same as yours, though.
