WhatsApp Google maps location link doesn’t work

My WhatsApp Google maps location link doesn’t work when a person send me their location and I click on open in Google maps it opens the Safari browser and not the Google maps

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 14

It might depend on the Whatsapp version of your sender (for iOS or for Android) and/or the method they use to comunicate their position.

In iOS version there's a specific "+" sign (at bottom left corner) when you want to comunicate your location (and it works fine since the correspondent can open the map using Google Maps. Not sure it's the same thing in Android.

For further doubts, contact Whatsapp support team about that.
