The battery replacement fee is applied where just the battery requires service - your existing iPad otherwise being fully functional and undamaged. The iPad will be examined and tested - prior to being exchanged for a reconditioned iPad of the same model and specification. The replacement iPad will have a new battery.
If anything else is wrong with the iPad, the full service fee applies. The reconditioned iPad is otherwise the same.
