Back up

I can not do a back up. It says that there is no space but I do have space

Are you referring to the storage on the device or in the cloud. The backups go to iCloud, unless otherwise specified by you, which everyone gets 5gb for free. If the iCloud storage is full then go to the device settings and disable backups. This will ask if you want to delete the old ones; say yes. Then wait a minute or two and turn backups on again. These steps pretty much work for both the phones and the Macs, which device are you having issues with though? This will help in providing you with further information.
