I have a 2011 Imac with High Sierra and need to make a bootable disk for a 2014 MacBook Air (11-inch Early 2014)?

Creating a bootable disk on a flash drive Hello, I have a 2011 27” IMac that I have installed a new hard drive and ram. I need to be able to create a bootable disk with High Sierra on a flash drive to install a new operating system on the new hard drive of the 2011 IMac. I am trying to accomplish this on my newer IMac that never had High Sierra installed on it and is currently running Monterey 12.1. When I try to download High Sierra, the newer IMac gives a message that the system is up to date. We have tried to download over WiFi using the tutorials has been unsuccessful. We have tried Tech support through Apple and OWC (maker of the installed hard drive) have been unsuccessful. There must be a work around to accomplish this. Any help is appreciated. How to create a bootable drive of an old os version on Ventura? I want to create a bootable drive to use on an old iMac that is stuck in recovery mode. It was running High Sierra and I'd like to reinstall it via the flash drive. I've tried to download the High Sierra via the links provided by apple on my MacBook but because my Macbook is running Ventura it just takes me to the software update page and says there are no updates available at the moment. How can I download the installer just to add to a USB drive?

Read the document 'How to create a bootable installer for macOS' at this link --> https://support.apple.com/HT201372

You'll need to make it a mac OS version that both computers can run, so basically something such as High Sierra or El Capitan. you can upgrade the MBA later if you wish.

You'll need Safari to download the installer file.
