Apple Watch Series 5

My Apple Watch Series 5 Screen becomes unresponsive whenever Always On is turned on. Sometimes the screen completely goes black, however I can still interact with the content and hear it but not see it. I have to either remove the watch completely off my wrist or restart it by holding down the crown and the power button. Has anyone experienced this? Should I contact Apple and try to get a replacement since it hasn’t yet been a year since I purchased it?

Most Apple devices come with a limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary support. If it almost a year old, I doubt it will be covered unless you extended your coverage further by purchasing AppleCare+ or the AppleCare Protection Plan.. But of course you can try.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
