Problems with AppleID on Apple Watch

After updating the system software on my Apple Watch, I had to pair it again to my iPhone and the app asks for my AppleID but when I enter my password I get an error message: Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud

Quite a battle, we are running soon out of ideas here! You could try if hard resetting your iPhone could help:

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support


Then you could also check if your watch is still showing up on icloud.com. If it is, erase it there before trying to pair again.
