How do I cancel out of an app I just downloaded?

You can delete the app following these steps:
- Find the app which you want to delete on your home screen
- Hold down on the app
- Press Remove (in red writing)
- Select whether you want to Delete App (Removes the app from your phone, freeing up storage meaning you will need to re-install the app if you want to use it again or "Remove from Home Screen" which keeps the device on your phone (does not free up storage) but it is hidden in the App Library.
If the app was a paid app then you could potentially try and claim a refund by contacting Apple's Form > Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple – Apple Support, however, this isn't guaranteed and it is up to whether Apple allow the refund or not.
