Hey,
I recently picked up one of the new 24" iMacs, and I've noticed that my studio monitors, which are plugged directly into the computer crackle/pop occasionally even when no music is being played. I've been using these exact monitors with my MacBook Pro for around 6 years now, and never once had this issue. I've even tried them with the MBP again and didn't notice anything.
Any resolutions?

Studio monitors are speakers.
What studio monitors do you have and how are they plugged into the new iMac?
Mackie CR3's. Plugged in via headphone jack, which is how I used them with my MBP without any issue for years.
