all photos not showing up when connected to PC?

I have had an iPhone for several years and have never had this problem before and have always used file explorer to import the photos.

I thought maybe the problem was that those photos came after I synced the phone last (never mattered before) but even after syncing the phone, they don't show up.

I just checked again and it's still doing the same thing, but now it's really strange. Yesterday, the last file shown on file explorer (with phone hooked up to PC) was 4574.MOV (last picture 4573.JPG) with a total of 1399 items. Today, the same file shows as the last file, but it says there are 1413 items.

this is really odd....

and the newer pictures still aren't showing up at all

OK I feel really dumb now!! I was looking at the numbers, ASSUMING that they would continue in sequence....that wasn't the case. they started over at 1000 or something after I switched over from the 3G to the 3GS (when i was in the 4500's or so)

I just realized that every time I delete all the photos off my phone, it starts the tile numbers back to 1000 or 1001, so if, say, I take some photos and put them in a folder on my PC and delete them off the phone, and then take some photos the next day of the same subject and want to put the pics in the same folder, I can't because the filename/number will be the same, so I end up having to make date subfolders.

Kindof a pain if u ask me...
