Quote a value from a cell with deployable menu format in a formula

I want to include a value in An IF formula, but it won’t work because the cell displays an deployable menu format.

How can I use a value from the deployable menu in formulas?

You are doing it correctly. The formula looks correct. Look at the pop up menu and see if you have a trailing space after "boneless". Or, as a different test, in a cell put the formula =LEN(A2) and see if the length is 8 like it should be.
