Reset an IPHONE X asking for 6 digit code

I reset my iPhone X To give to my nephew

it is asking for a 6 digit code which i DID NOT SET

it is not 000000 there is no option to select 4 digit code

i need help please

What's the prompt say? The six-digit stuff is commonly used as a two-factor authentication prompt, and the code will be sent to your trusted devices.


Here is what Apple recommends doing for this general case > What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


And probably not the case here, but for completeness >

If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support
