iPhone 7 and boost mobile expanded network

Does anyone know if the new chip from boost mobile expanded network is compatible with iPhone 7? I have the chip but when I hold it up to the opening it does not look like it will fit. Boost mobile on their website only shows phones for sale on expanded network and shows iPhone 8 up.
