Did you empty the trash after moving the application and files there?
If not, it's still technically on your computer and will still take up space.
The easiest way to do this is click on the trash can icon with 2 fingers and click "Empty Trash".
Or you can click on the trash icon to open it, then click on the gear icon, then click "Empty Trash". This is useful for checking what's in your trash before emptying it. There's also an "Empty" button near the top right corner of the window you could click instead.
If you don't want to delete everything in the Trash, you can also delete individual or multiple files. Select the files you want to delete, do a 2 finger click, then choose "Delete Immediately". This will delete those files, but leave the rest in your Trash just in case you want to recover them later on.
