As you can see there is a photo now in the notification pannel, thanks for that. But in the messages and inside the chat photo is not showing, instead of the name ( Andrea in this case) there should be a photo?

Yes there should be a photo if you added one, click the arrow or Andrea - then click info - info - edit - add photo. Add her photo and then see if it sticks.

That is correct, only the recipient can view that assuming that they assign a photo for your contact.

They need to assign a photo for your contact. There is nothing for you to do. IF you set up a photo for their contact you can view it in the message app.
