At the top of every topic list, there is a "Filter" icon:
Clicking that reveals the filter options.
I suspect the bottom two options are what you seek:

Once you're signed in, you can also just go to a forum and scroll down all of the threads - it will show how many replie each one has. So, choose one that has 0 replies and see if you have an answer to their question. Remember that we are supposed to have done what we suggest (test it on your own device) so we know it will work since these are tech forums. Don't send people to questionable sites or offer unsupported (by Apple) methods such as ripping DRM protected commercial movies.
