Griffin makes quite a few power adapters; which one are you considering? If it is certified as Made for iPhone then it is safe to use. If it is at least 20 watts and supports the USB-C PD standard then it’s performance will be the same as Apple’s 20 watt or higher USB-C power adapter. In general, Apple does not recommend 3rd party products, but they publish specifications and any device that meets those specifications should be OK.
