How do i block the use of the microphone or camera (orange and/or green dot) by an unknown app?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’d like to prevent apps from accessing the microphone and camera on your iPhone. We’ll be happy to help.
When you see this dot appear, you can use Control Center to see what apps recently used your camera or mic. This article provides more info on using Control Center:
Access Control Center on your iPhone and iPod touch
Then you can go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and Settings > Privacy > Camera to enable or disable apps from using these.
