Delete an app from the App Library

The information on Deleting an app is not correct. Delete an app from the App Library Go to the App Library and tap the search field to open the list. Touch and hold the app icon, then tap Delete App Trash can icon. Tap Delete again to confirm. Why can’t I delete?

Why can’t I delete apps from my library? I don’t mean where it sits there and waits to get updated or uploaded again, I mean PERMANENTLY. I’m very frustrated because this used to be simple.

I have tried this but it’s not working. This isn’t working. Remove is the item in red but says won’t remove from App Library. This is crazy. Been trying every google tip and no luck. Why make it so hard to remove an app? Help please.

Drag the app from your App Library onto your home screen, there you'll get the option to Delete the App.

Remember to press Press Remove (in red writing) and then Delete App, as otherwise the app will not be deleted and return to your App Library.
