Is "Malwarebytes Privacy for Mac" Useless?

"Malwarebytes Privacy for Mac" eMail:

Did anyone else get this eMail?: I got an eMail from Malwarebytes advertising Malwarebytes Privacy now being available for Mac. So, is Malwarebytes Privacy for Mac trustworthy, being it is Malwarebytes? Or is it still no better than the rest of the antivirus establishment?

What I'd Try:

If I were to try it, it would be on my 2018 Mac mini. To troubleshoot it, I would back up my Mac, install the software, try it out, and then restore from the Time Machine Backup, if of no use.

To Clarify:

"antivirus establishment" is used a general sense (maybe "security software establishment" would have been better to use.) Have you tried it? Any luck with it?

I have not tried it or any other VPN. A VPN is not something that I have personally felt a need for.
