Signing out of icloud

I have discovered that when I sign out of ICloud my photos are still on my Mac. Therefore I ask if when I delete a photo while being signed out will the photos I delete be deleted on ICloud or any other devices I own.

Hello nope200,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! We understand you are looking for some information on how your photos will behave when deleting them. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

Do you know if you are using iCloud Photos on your Mac? You can check on your Mac by going to the Apple Menu () > System Preferences > Apple ID, then clicking on iCloud in the side bar and check if there is a check mark next to Photos:

Set up and use iCloud Photos

If you aren't using iCloud Photos, then any photos you delete on your Mac won't reflect in iCloud. If these photos remain on your Mac when you sign out of iCloud, this seems to indicate that they are downloaded to your Mac directly. However if iCloud Photos is enabled, that change should reflect on iCloud the next time you sign in.

We hope this information helps.

Best Regards.

When Apple ID is signed out from Mac If you sign out of your Apple ID preferences on Mac - Apple Support

You’re also asked whether you want to download or remove photos and videos that aren’t fully downloaded from iCloud Photos to your Mac. After you sign out of your Apple ID in Apple ID preferences, downloaded photos and videos aren’t kept up to date with changes on your other devices.

The photo deleting Delete photos or recover deleted ones in Photos on Mac - Apple Support option will not appear while signing out , rather it will prompt to keep a copy of photos or not , the photos can be deleted when Apple ID and password is signed in a Mac and the box of photos is checked , you have set up iCloud photo library Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
