phone. I see it is for I cloud service . I forgot why I needed it. Please explain. Thanks

If you have more than 5GB of material in iCloud and want to keep it in iCloud, then yes, you’ll want to keep your 50GB storage subscription.

No you don't. It is for extra storage above the 5GB that is free.
