Could the air tag be causing this?

Might be. But let’s review the numbers. The percentage for an app is the percentage of the amount of energy used, not the total energy drawn from the battery in 24 hours. So in the first screen shot your battery went from 96% to about 60%, a total of a 34% drop. So Find My used 84% of 34%, or 29% of your battery’s energy. That sounds a little high, but it’s not unusual for an app. In the 2nd example it looks like the battery went from about 60% to 30%, a 30% drop. And Find My used 23% of 30%, or about 7% of your battery’s total energy.

Were you actively using the Find My app for any of these 24 hours? If you tap on any entry it will show what the app was doing, how much was background and how much was on screen. What do those numbers show?

I barley touched my iPhone and haven’t gone into find my iPhone since i paired the air tag. You can see the screen was on 12min and off for 1hr 7min when the background activity was at 84%. Background app refresh was turned off. I turned off find my iPhone and after a couple days it dropped to 23%. You would think there would be no activity when find my iPhone as turned off. I’ve really never had find my iPhone come up under battery usage. I’d like to have it enabled but not if it’s going to give me numbers like that.
