apple calendar app
My calendar app icon was deleted. I find it in the App Store and can open it but it does not have an icon to download the app that was on the screen. I thought it was an app that you could not delete.

Same exact problem. Recommended solution did not work. Looking at storage it looks like the calendar app may have been offloaded, however the suggested to reverse the offload through the App Store also only allowed access to the calendar app.
My next strategy is going to delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store. In my case losing all the dates is of no consequence since I use the Calendar app icon from the Home Screen to see what day it is.
Hallelujah! I got my icon back. The replacement downloaded from the cloud.
