It is a bit ridiculous that these can't be shared with family members or just shared like you share your location in Find My with friends.

I have a tag on our on dog, but my wife and my daughter can't track him. That's pretty sad. Do we need to add three AirTags on my dog's collar so we can all track him? LoL.

I just bought a 4 pack of AirTags and quickly realized what a waste of money! As a family we need to know where the car is. Where our keys are. Where the dog is. Not just one of us but both!! Very disappointed. I should have gone with Tile. Come on Apple get with the program I’m sure one of your geniuses can rewrite the program so we can share tags!! Cheers.

I find the AirTags so annoying, I get almost daily notifications that an AirTag is following me!. I know, it’s my wife carrying her car keys or me borrowing said car. The only option I can find is disable notifications from this AirTag for the rest of the day and then in the morning, it starts all over again, you’re being followed by an unknown air tag.

Oh my goodness this is so annoying.

We have this exact situation! We need to be able to find the dog no matter who is with her or home.

There are many reasons why you'd want to share it with your family for example:

I have an airtag in my bag, my bag gets stolen or I leave it behind, and my phone is also in there?!

Come on Apple, we really really need to be able to share!

Unfortunately, no.

This is a really hard thing for my family for when we all go different places and on bike rides we all should know where we are, and not just one person. If that one person were not to be home, we all have no idea where everyone is. Very inconveniencing, and that’s not the only problem with it. Apple, please fix this!

A tag can’t report itself to the wireless network.

In fact a tag hasn’t a clue as to where it is.

There must be a relaying device (e.g. iPhone) in fairly close proximity to detect the tag, determine it’s own position, and relay both to Apple.

I only hope that your dogs don’t become neurotic from the incessant tag beeping when your own devices are not nearby.

I was just saying that Apple should fix it, and just emphasizing the point.

That is not the way direct address is usually interpreted in English. My apologies if English is not your native language.

And, you should still submit feedback if the matter is important to you. Saying here that Apple should fix it, regardless of emphasis, is not much more constructive than talking to yourself.

Don't tell your cat. We didn't tell our dog. Now we know where he really sneaks out to when he is supposed to be at his doggie club. BUT WE CAN ONLY SEE THIS ON MY PHONE, my wife - his main caregiver - can't see what he's up to and thus believes him when he asks for more cookies.

Apple really needs to fix this: if I can share my phone, iPad etc. with anyone, why can't I share something as simple as an AirTag????? There's no justification for this that's remotely valid.

I have one on my Apple TV remote (sounds ridiculous I know) but I work nights and when I get home, I can never find it as the little ones stuck it under the couch or cushions and everyone is asleep. But when I’m at work and my wife can’t find it, I can’t help her. It would be nice for at least multiple users especially if you track your children.

I completely agree with what everyone is saying about family sharing. We have these tags on our pets and it’s really a pain that we can’t allow other family members (or the pet sitter) have access…an update would be a really helpful tool.

Did you submit feedback to Apple? The more people who do, the more likely Apple is to consider making the change you want.
