It is a bit ridiculous that these can't be shared with family members or just shared like you share your location in Find My with friends.

I have a tag on our on dog, but my wife and my daughter can't track him. That's pretty sad. Do we need to add three AirTags on my dog's collar so we can all track him? LoL.

It seems like a no brainer here, if the owner of the AirTag is consenting or permits Apple to share the location of the AirTag with other people and the intended recipient consents to receiving that information there are no issues.

I feel like this was intentionally deceptive and dishonest marketing by Apple to increase revenue. I’m wondering if I should file complaints with Better Business Bureau.

So if I lose my iPhone with the AirTag assigned to it and the battery dies and am unable to find my iPhone no one would ever be allowed to find or use that AirTag.

That sounds like literally the silliest thing ever for a technology that is marketed to find your belongings.

This is a big problem I have with Apple and it’s technology ecosystem. I need to buy all sorts of Apple devices just assigned to me for redundancy. I can’t have different profiles on an iPad for my young kids, so everyone needs their own Apple Device. This isn’t Green or environmentally conscious, Apple is just greedy chasing profits.

Instead of using just one Apple AirTag and sharing with anyone that needs to know the location, everyone has to buy their own Apple AirTag and put it on the same object for us each to know where it is.

Wow what a miss and fail by Apple. I converted over to Apple from Android devices a few years ago. Seeing that this is the way Apple wants to operate I’m thinking I’ll go back to Android where I don’t need 15 devices and can just share my devices.

Apple I recommend you get your act together and start satisfying common and expected use cases with your technologies. Keep this up and you’ll lose your market share quickly especially during a looming recession here in 2022.

Remember growth is logistic and there is an upper bound, if you try to exceed the upper bound you will crash the population, in this case your market share.

Bad fix for AirTags being dropped on unsuspecting people. Makes them mostly useless. Trying this on my family pet in case she gets out and it is effectively worthless. Even within a shared family it is not visible to all like devices are. Just a terrible solution and needs to be corrected. Should also be sharable like a tile is. Surely this can be un-fixed. Probably sending it back as it is essentially useless except for personal items. What if multiple people are trying to find it, primary user is out of the home but car keys need to be found. Whole slew of reasons to share to whomever or at a minimum within a family by selection a share option.

So my family can see literally everything from my iPhone to my AirPods but can not see my AirTags!

This doesn't make any sense!

We put these nowadays in our pets or little kids to check on them in kindergarten and it is important to check on them by the family members

Hope Apple change this to be shared with family members!

the least they can do, is to allow each unique Apple account to enable access to an AirTag during configuration with confirmation to allow share.

crap feature, but I own eight, to bypass their bs ingenuity

So, are you saying Apple got you to buy eight AirTags? And, as a for-profit company, Apple’s goal it to sell more things and make more money. So, I guess they’re doing okay.

No, what I’m saying is… I bought 8 and cannot share.

therefore, I will not buy any more Apple products until they get better reviews on how they work.

I have since swapped my AirTag’s for a competitor tag… which works 200% better.

sucks for Apple customers like me, but if they don’t help their own customer base, they can lose their respect and $$$

jezus… you can share a device, but you can’t share a tag??!?!!? Bad business

And yet, Apple has become one of the most successful companies in the world by doing what they have always done: Give the customer what Apple decides the customer needs, not what the customer thinks they want." It has never been clear to me why people think that's suddenly going to change.

But, absolutely, if a small bit of plastic and circuitry is going to get you that upset, you should stop buying them. And, if you don't agree with Apple's business philosophy, don't buy their products.
