Has anyone been able to get the HP Tango X to scan?
I've tried iMac, iPad, iPhone (and Android) but each time the device reports it does not have scan capability. I've tried HP support, but they want remote access to my Mac (not possible in my business.)
The box and the device itself both report as being a Tango X (the one with a scanner.)
Both Airprint and HP Smart recognize the device as a Tango X.
What am I missing?

As you already know according to this Apple document, About AirPrint - Apple Support, your printer model is AirPrint compatible.
Go to the System/Printers & Scanners preference pane, Control (right) - click on your printer and select" Reset printing system…" from the contextual menu.
Then add the printer back with the AirPrint (wireless) option and try scanning again.

Thanks, I hadn't thought to reset AirPrint – it didn't work … : ) … but worth a try.
At this point, I wonder if anyone has ever had a Tango X scan work with a Mac.
HP support didn't have any solution.
Have you tried Image Capture? That works with my HP Envy
I checked out VueScan - which you should try - but it does not list any HP scanner with "Tango" in the name.
