Fan noise coming from macbook air?

My mac air 2020 is making a lot of noise even though I'm only on google chrome. I'm so confused because I thought this new model has a M1 chip and does not have a built in fan??? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Just want to know why it's doing this and what I should do to fix this.

Also, I want to know my battery's maximum capacity but it doesn't show up for me... I followed what my friend did to check her's (system pref --> battery --> battery health). I also tried going into apple menu --> about this mac --> system report and still could not find it. Is there another way to check?

You need to properly identify your MacBook Air.

Go to Apple Menu>About this Mac.

If your MBA 2020 has the the M1 chipset, it will be identified there as "MacBook Air (M1, 2020) & under Chip will be "Apple M1". If it does not mention the M1 in the description, then you have the Intel chipset based MacBook Air which does have a cooling fan which is not very efficient as far as cooling goes. I believe the Intel based chipset MacBooks are identified as such in the same area where it would identify the Intel chipset and processor speed.
