M1 iPad Pro emoji isn’t working on the new Magic Keyboard

Hi,

It seems that my M1 iPad Pro 12.9” isn’t showing emoji keyboard when connected to the Magic Keyboard. I have English, another language, and emoji selected in the keyboard set up. Pressing the globe key doesn’t bring up the emoji keyboard like it should.

The issue seems specific to the Magic Keyboard. When the iPad is connected to the Smart Keyboard Folio, the emoji works just fine.

How can I tell if this is hardware issue, or is there a fix if it’s software-related? Thanks.

Hello Wisrute and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty accessing the emoji keyboard on a new iPad Pro when using the Magic Keyboard.

Try disconnecting the Magic Keyboard from your iPad, restart the iPad, then reconnect the keyboard and test.

Use your Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Keyboard with your iPad

Set up and use Magic Keyboard for iPad

If the issue remains, If the tips there do not resolve the issue, you'll want to contact Apple Support for further options.
