Why did my tablet turn black and there’s still noise

my brother told me that his tablet stop working while he was in the middle of using the tablet. We tried doing a hard restart and that didn’t work, we also searched for everything on how to fix it and we tried everything and that still didn’t work, so far we can only hear the charging port noise, nothing else
