Wow since i have done the lastest update my iphone is battery is draining and doesnt last the day anyone got any advice?
I have 3 devices: iphone 11, ipad, and ipad mini. None are old.
I updated the phone and the ipad to 14.6. I did not update the mini.
I have not changed the way I use these devices. You might say that I’m set in my ways.
I totally shut down each device once per day. Holdover habits from using windows computers for decades in my former life.
with regard to the devices updated to 14.6, battery does drain noticeably faster. But what is really annoying is that the batteries take MUCH longer to recharge.
The battery behavior (rate of drain and recharge) of the mini, which I did not update, has not changed.
I have studied this for over a week. I made sure to close properly apps not not in use. I close Safari links as I finish with them. When I watch video on my ipad it is plugged into the charger, as I always have done. I make sure that my screen is no brighter than it needs to be.
In, short, the only thing that has changed is the iOS (the independent variable, so to speak).
in the devices where the iOS has been updated to 14.6, the battery performance has declined. In the device that was not updated to iOS 14.6, the battery performance has not declined. There is ample reason to believe that all other factors that might affect battery performance are constant (have not changed during the interval between pre- and post- update.
I eagerly await the next update in hopes that whatever was done, inadvertently I expect, that has caused me to lug around a backup battery, is corrected.
I love my Apple devices. But right now I’m loving them a little less. Except for the mini, of course.
