Telling me /usr/local/lib not found

I'm using Go to Folder to open /usr/local/lib. But it's telling me that it's not found.

I followed the instructions on this thread to create a folder: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1509209

However, it's still telling me "The folder can't be found" on Go to Folder.

Anyone have any advice?

Why do you want a /usr/local/lib folder?

Generally they are associated with the installation of open source programs installed from the Terminal.

Are you just doing this because you think you should have a /usr/local/lib, or do you have a reason?

Just wondering.
