Changing country, don't want to lose all my apps!

Changing country. The advice says switch your account to the new country, then with the added warning you will lose all the apps previously connected with the account

Is this true? I don't want to test it to find out I will lose everything.

You won't lose the apps. You will lose the ability to update the apps, unless the new store has the same version of the app.
