Question

Hi,

I am new user of Macbook Pro. I am using macOS Big Sur (Version 11.4).

I have an issue, I cant install the old printers and some softwares on this device.

Please guide me how to install.

Hi,

It is probably a good idea to begin by resetting the printing system. Check whether the operating system suggests a suitable driver.

Have you tried the HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS (posted Dec 11, 2020) download (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) from Apple? An HP LaserJet P2055 (driver version 19.13) is mentioned in the article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac – Apple Support.

Depending on the connection (USB or network), see the appropriate section in Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support for details.

Try for Generic PCL or Generic PostScript drivers...

Just to make sure, I assume that it was possible to open the .dmg file and carry out the installation.

How is your printer connected?

Dear Jan Hedlund,

I reset the printing system and now the printer list is empty. The operating system didn't suggest any suitable driver.

I downloaded HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS (posted Dec 11, 2020) download (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) from Apple.

Please note: before this printer and all other printers that i plugged in worked automatically without any installation of drivers.

It also didn't work.

What should I do now.

Please guide me.
