It is not advised to change a user account name, it is wrought with danger ie, data loss, getting locked out, etc

A much safer approach is add a new user with the name you want, giving your self admin.

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

Open >System Preferences>Sharing and move all your data over. Test for a couple of weeks to verify everything is there as you expect before you delete the old user.

This is different then the computer name— which is easily changed in the sharing preferences
