After a new reply on a post my username has been changed?

Hi

After a new reply on a post my username has been changed from the already for 10 years used barteatapple to Creomeetron? All my posts and replies are changed to that name?

Is this a known problem or is my Apple account hacked?

I will logout now and see if it helps and brings back my previous username or i can fix this.

It's also possible that i can't connect anymore to my account, then i will try to reply here with my other Apple account.

Yes, all seams ok but i am not happy, because Apple has changed my username after +-10 years to 'Creomeetron' because this:

We’ve temporarily changed your username to Creomeetron because your original username makes it appear as though you are an Apple employee. Please allow up to 24 hours for this change to take full effect. You may notice some inconsistency with your username during this period.

You can read more about appropriate usernames on our Terms of Use page: Apple Support Communities Use Agreement

To change your username, please send an email to applemoderators@apple.comwith three alternative usernames in order of preference. We’ll check to see if your preference is available.

My username was 'barteatapple' ;-) for +-10 years, how could that be confusing? ;-)

We are users like you so can not speak for Apple nor do we have access to Apple decision making. But, if I were to guess, I would say that the username barteatapple may have been deemed to falsely indicate that you work at Apple and represent Apple. This false impression may affect/confuse some users who come to these user-to-user help communities. So the moderators/hosts may have changed it for that reason. But I do not know for sure.

The email indicates they changed it temporarily which would indicate you can let them know what you want your new username to be. I see nothing wrong with that.

You can not have a username that indicates you represent Apple. Nothing wrong with that either.

It appears in the 10 years you say you had the old username you never user it to make a post. So after 10 years it became known and it was changed. Nothing wrong with that either.

Yes, i have used 'barteatapple' for +-10 years and have posted some posts and replies over that +-10 years without issues. But now they have changed on all posts and replies my username.

I think Apple has put a new algoritme in this forum to detect all possible 'wrong' usernames. If there is apple in it they will change it.

But ok, i have asked that barteatpear can help them out. ;-)

And yes, i represent Apple since 1996 when i bought my first Apple Computer. I have now 8 Apple computers with a PowerBook Pismo G3/400 (Firewire) as the topmodel that's still running MacOS 10.2! So, in my opinion ieatapple, but more and more i like more penguins. ;-)

That is Apple's right. They own the website = they make the rules and usernames that may indicate an Apple employment are not allowed so as not to confuse others thinking they are talking to an Apple employee.

So, if you posted previously with your old user name, no one caught that until now. And, you may have a lot of Macs (which is very cool), but unless you are gainfully employed by them, you do not legally "represent" them.

Yes, i know 'they make the rules', that's why i am a little bit 'joking' with it. ;-)

barteatapple sounds not really like an Apple employee, bartatapple a little bit more of coarse.

I am a person that uses he's machines till they 'die' or are 'obsolete' so a lot of 'death Mac's is more correct. ;-)

Only the Pismo, like i told, and the 2015 MB P are still running.
