Hello orestes176,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's our understanding that A scanned document in the Notes app doesn't appear in iCloud. We're happy to help.

If you haven't already go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and make sure Notes has been enabled. Also make sure that you have a strong Internet connection. Test the issue while connected to a different network if possible.

If the issue persists, let us know if the note itself appears in iCloud. Please include specific error messages and any troubleshooting steps that you may have tried.

Have a nice day!

This is insanely frustrating. I was so happy to get rid of a 3rd party scanning app, then Work implemented a forced migration away from MacOS. So, stuck with Windows. My workaround is to share a copy of the note to iCloud which I have the windows app (iCloud Drive for Windows) installed for. It drops a PDF of the scanned items in the folder. ...while we wait for a fix...

Same problem for months. Have talked to 15 Apple reps since last Spring, including second level reps. Second level reps referred problem to the engineers twice and I keep getting asked same questions repeatedly even when I have a case number. So far, no resolution. Engineers requires a week to respond each time. Engineers latest request is for HAR files, which the second level rep could not clearly explain. The problem exists only when I try to access iphone scanned docs via Windows 10 PC icloud.com. So Engineers want HAR file of PC, but apparently HAR file gives their employees access to all my passwords for everything I've logged onto (ie bank accounts) All reps have claimed grey Notes is not a 'known issue'. My iphone 8+ is a replacement for the same phone that bricked 1 year after I bought it, and Notes has never worked on the replacement. New 2021 FILES app now has scan feature, and it appears to scan docs to icloud correctly.

I have a fast internet connection when I scan documents using notes. The scans show very well on my iPhones 8 plus’ notes apps but when I try to access the same scans on a different device through iCloud the scans become a gray square, no text or numbers. This means that if I lost my iPhone I would have no access to the scans using a different device. So specifically for the scans iCloud is useless. Finally, I get no error message it’s just the scans gray out

thanks

Well do not contact Apple Support for this problem as I did. I was elevated twice so I assumed I was working with an expert who indicated several times she needed to send information to technicians. On my 3rd scheduled callback from this individual, an Apple Support Team Member, she did an unthinkable act by not calling me back and as I waited for an hour I receive an email "Hi, We called but couldn’t reach you. If you still need help, let us know. " Rather than transfer me to a higher level because she did not have an answer she LIED ABOUT A CALLBACK. I was stunned and I have since sent in requests for callback to my open case and have not received any response. Thank you Alyssa at Apple for wasting approximately 3 to 4 hours of my times. My problem remains the same as your problem, a grayed out image on iCloud.com. I believe Apple is aware of this serious problem and either does not know how to fix or doesn't care. If you discover a fix, please message me. My problem continues without a solution.
