Does wireless Apple CarPlay support lossless audio?

As I understand it, wireless CarPlay uses WiFi network, not Bluetooth, to connect my phone with my vehicle. And I’m pretty sure that there must be a DAC somewhere in my car to do the decoding. So in theory there are enough bandwidth and the right hardware to play lossless using wireless CarPlay, can someone provide more information on this topic?

Hey Sebastian,

Thanks for posting your question in Apple Support Communities!

As per the information in this article: About lossless audio in Apple Music, your device will need to be connected by a cable or using lossless capable devices via bluetooth. Unfortunately there will not be a way to use this feature using your wireless CarPlay.

Best Wishes.
