recycle Apple Pencil (1st edition)

does anyone know how to recycle Apple Pencil. Do I drop it into the apple store? or my local Recycle centre?

The best way to recycle a non-functioning Apple Pencil is to simply drop-off at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store - where it will be recycled free of charge by Apple.

Dead Apple Pencil I have discovered after three hours of calls and chats to Apple that my beautiful unused Apple Pencil will not work. However I have this to say, given our recycling age and necessity that the clever, apple engineers need to look into the problem of storing the Apple Pencil and not incapsulate the 0.329 Wh lithium-ion rechargeable battery so that this battery can be replaced - for such an expensive accessory. What happens to the pencil when it’s no longer functioning? No information offered about this, so how many flat battery (dead battery) Apple pencils are there in the world?
