M1 Macbook Air Out of application Memory using nothing but Safari 3 Tabs open

Let me start by saying that I am no Mac Noob. Have been using Mac since the IIe. I have more than 5 Active machines varying from Powerbooks to Intel i5 MBP 2019's, i7 2018 Mac Minis..... and a 5K 27Inch iMac, But I have a serious issue with the M1 MB Air 8gig 256G. Did anyone in the design team actually take the time to test this unit ? I cannot even run Safari and Adobe reader together without getting the " OUT OF PROGRAM MEMORY " error ??????

My 2014 MB Air with 4 Gigs of Ram can run more than the new wonder M1. To say that I am disappointed, is an understatement. Im going to return this unit if I cannot get the matter resolved. Perhaps try a swapout, but somehow I dont think this will help. I think this is OS related, because sure as heck this cannot be right. Anyone had a similar issue and found a way to resolve this. I cannot even type a document I'm researching online !?!
