Mail mirroring between iPhone and iPad

Hi boffins!

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and an iPad 12.9” both up to date with iOS 14.6.

I seem to remember that my mail used to mirror between both devices. Now they are not!

is this a function I can utilise, and if so, how?

Mail never syncs between devices, instead all devices sharing an email address sync with the email server, which has the master copy of all email. This works with all types of email settings except for the obsolete POP3. So the first step is to verify that on each of your devices the accounts are not configured as POP3 (aka POP). You can check this on your iOS devices by going to Settings/Mail/Accounts and tap on each account.

Hey there arthur63,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having some issues syncing mail across devices. We're happy to provide some assistance.

Are you using iCloud mail? If so, look here:

Set up iCloud Mail on your devices

If you have third-party accounts on your device that you set up, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts and make sure Mail is turned on for the account in question.

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!
