iPad Video Help?

I just d/l a video in mp4 format. Using Get Info I see:

Dimensions: 640x352
Codecs: H.264, AAC
Duration: 56.27
Audio channels: 1
Total bit rate: 1796

I added it to my iTunes library, it plays fine with iTunes and Quicktime but iTunes tells me the video is not in the correct format. When I select Create iPad Version it creates a much smaller file that plays the audio but just a white screen for the video.

Ideas?

Update - tried using QT and Save As to change to .mov and got the same white screen.

I would try converting the video via the freeware program Handbrake. I convert videos that way and just select the default mp4 settings.

I use RealPlayer SP (available for Mac & PC) to download videos, especially for YouTube. RealPlay can convert to iPad format (m4v) and transfer a copy of the file to iTunes for loading onto my iPad the next time I sync. To download RealPlayer SP go to:
http://www.real.com/realplayer/mac

Also, Safari 5.0.1 can now download many YouTube videos in m4v format.
