Synchronizing IOS devices finds files that can't be transferred

Ever since I migrated from my old Catalina iMac to my new M1 iMac, finder finds files that cannot be transferred when I synchronize my IOS devices:

—Some videos, including “1C8B9A0E-66E5-42DE-A1DA-661607391ECE.mov”, were not copied to the iPad “Howard's iPad Pro” because they cannot be played on this iPad.

—Some Audible files were not copied to the iPhone “Howard's iPhone 12 Pro” because you are not authorized to play them on this Mac.

Checking, I see that that video is in: /Users/HBrazee/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/originals/6

Both Books & Photos synchronize from the masters on my iMac.

After having these problems, I installed Audible on my iPhone and found that it knows about 4 books. My iMac's Books app knows about 10 book (these show up as synchronizing to my IOS devices). Two of these books are the same on both places.

How do I get rid of these errors?

Hello Howard,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about those messages related to syncing your iPhone and iPad with your new iMac.

Are you able to open and view that video in the Photos app on your new iMac without any difficulties?

If so, was that video originally recorded using your iPad or imported from another device?

Additionally, this article has some steps that may help with authorizing purchases on your new iMac: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases

Take care.

Howard,

If you are attempting to locate a particular file mentioned in an error message, you'd want to use the search option in the Photos app to see if the file name shows up there.

Do those errors still continue if you boot your iMac into safe mode? Start up your Mac in safe mode

It can take a few extra minutes to boot into safe mode. Your screen may flash or flicker while in safe mode. Those behaviors are expected. Booting into safe mode also runs a check on your disk, along with clearing out some cache and temporarily files. So testing in safe mode may help to further isolate that behavior.

Cheers.

I was hoping compressing the file would convert it, as yesterday I was able to sync. Today synchronization gave me that error. Sometimes it syncs, sometimes it gives me an error message, sometimes it gives me 50 error messages.

One problem I have is that when I cut and paste that error message, then use EasyFind to find and display the problem, I still don't know how to find it in the photos app.

I didn't have the problem until I migrated from my old iMac to my new iMac.
