Reset Unpaired Apple Watch

How do I reset my watch to factory settings when it is no longer paired with my phone? I can’t pair it with my phone because it wants me to update the software and I can’t update the software because there isn’t enough memory left. The only thing I can think to do is reset it to factory settings to free up space to update the software.
