what is a .madesktop file? its weird thought it was .heic?

Files that contain the .desktop file extension are commonly associated with Linux and Unix-based operating systems.



Command i will open the info pane if you have the file highlighted—you may glean some insight here.


alternatively—

From Terminal.app you can copy & paste:

file 


(notice the trailing blank space... then drag & drop the file onto the terminal window to complete the path—for more information.)
