thanks. i actually dont own any apple products. i had to get sister (in another state) to do it with her apple device.
she ordered the card for me by signing into my apple account (from back in the day) but when the "physical card" arrives i'll have to get her to activate it also.

Yes, it must be activated on an iPhone. If you have a friend or neighbor with an iPhone you can do the same thing. Just say’s.
You generally have to pay the monthly statement/balance with an iPhone too. But there is a way to do it online. Here’s an Apple Support article that goes over making payments,
