After reading your original post I tried my 12 Pro Max with one of my USB-A to Lightning cables and it worked fine.
One more thing, do you have another USB-A to Lightning cable? If yes it is worth the shot.

I use a USB to lightning cable with my iPhone 12 Pro and it works just fine. Another thought is that the lightning cable may need replacement.

then please explain why i cannot use my old cable from my 10xr with my new 12 pro?? i have music and audio books on my pc i would very much like to transfer into my phone and i cant because the cable is not working for me and i have tried many time to connect this new 12 pro (POS) to my pc with no luck. great job with backwards compatibility apple.
good for you, now why doesnt mine work as well? i plug it in and get no charging ping the battery doesnt change color or get the lightning bolt and my i tunes and pc will not even acknowledge an iphone being plugged in, the cord i am using works great in my old phone but wont do anything in my new phone.

Have you tried a different USB port on your computer? Many of the ports on the front of computers have less power than the ones on the back of the device.

the phone is brand spanking new just got it today 7/12/2021 so i doubt the connector is dirty, could it be the service provider or are all iphones the same now regardless of service provider?
just did still no luck guess i got a lemon phone will be returning it very soon, brand new and already not working proper. US cellular sucks!
ive tried 4 separate cables all do not work the cable that came with phone works great but will not plug into PC for transfer purposes thanks for asking tho.
another good question, and yes i have tried all the USB ports on my computer and none work i have tried 6 cables now all work with my old phone (10 xr) but none work with my new 12 pro phone.
