Hello experts,
Since several days, the input menu has disappeared from the menu bar. Also, the function key is not working to switch among the input sources. Has someone also the same problem? What could it be caused?

I got it working again without restarting with the following command:
sudo killall -9 PAH_Extension TextInputMenuAgent TextInputSwitcher

Have you checked in System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Input Sources that Show Input menu in menu bar is checked?
I just checked again ... and now it doesn't show here, too.
The fn shortcut still works, though.
Right now I'm doing a backup so I can't restart.
In the meantime I made a quick research on internet and found many similar cases. I guess it's a bug.

Open Terminal (it's an app inside Applications/Utilities).
Copy and paste the command. Press Enter.
Enter the asked system password (you won't see the typed characters – it's normal, they are hidden on purpose). Press Enter.
Ok, since nearly two weeks this situation has appeared occasionally. I cannot tell the difference of the startup environment. What is pretty sure is that the input menu disappeared yesterday but appeared today without any changing.

I've played lots of times on this option. There was once I unchecked the box, restarted and checked again, it appeared, but not every time.
My fn key is also not working. I wonder maybe there were a conflict between the iTerm and this Library. Because this situation started after I installed iTerm.
For the record, I don't use iTerm.

This really solved my problem. I restarted two times. It showed on the menu bar. I will track on this post if the situation comes back.
